Originally hailing from Maryland's Chesapeake Bay an hour outside of Washington, D.C., Hal moved west to attend The University of Oregon, where he studied and lived until 1996. From there, Hal followed his love of the mountains and the outdoors to Telluride, Colorado, where he lived and worked in the restaurant industry. It was during his time in Colorado that Hal met his wife, Wight, and they were married in 2003.
Once married, Hal and his wife decided to move back East in order to be closer to family and in order for Hal to attend culinary school in Charleston, SC. Inevitably, their love of the mountains and cooler climates brought them out of the low country and into Asheville, where they have lived since 2004, and are proud to be raising two young boys. Working as a chef and in various capacities in the restaurant business was exciting, challenging and fun; however, a desire to be able to spend more waking hours with his family led Hal to a career in real estate.
Hal particularly enjoys helping other young families with their real estate needs, as he understands the things that motivate them. Hal enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and sons outdoors, cooking, listening to music, and playing guitar.
